First Appearance: The Legend of Zelda: Verge of Destruction

Lissa is the half-sister of Prince Link. She is the daughter of Marsden and a [[Gensiarians|Gensiarian]. She is the wife of Lord Josh Kemper and the mother of Lord Lyle. Her father died soon after her birth, and she was raised in the wilderness of Hyrule by a friend of his. She was kept ignorant of her heritage, because a potential Guardian cannot know his or her destiny until it is time to make the choice between good and evil. Kilare and Nalga both came to stay with Lissa while all three were still very young. Her ability to talk to animals is an innate manifestation of her magical nature.

Lissa's adoptive father died when she was eight-years-old, and she continued to make her home in the forest with help from the animals. This lasted for four years, ending suddenly when Kilare brought news of an injured young man unconscious in the forest. The young man was Link, just returned to Hyrule having spent a year away. Lissa nursed him back to health and left with him to rescue the Princess Zelda. Their subsequent adventure revealed her Gensiarian nature and her kinship to Link (read The Legend of Zelda: Verge of Destruction). Lissa became a Guardian and moved into the North Palace with Link and Zelda.
