Barbara Gail Gordon or Babs is the youngest daughter of James Gordon Sr. and Barbara Gordon. She briefly appears in the Dark Knight when Two-Face has kidnapped the Gordon family and threatens to kill her brother James Gordon Jr. in front of their father. Batman is shot, which she witnesses, before tackling Two-Face over the edge and saving James Gordon Jr. from the fall. She is portrayed by Hannah Gunn in the Dark Knight.

In the Dark Knight Rises, we are told that Barbara Gordon divorced and moved with the children to Cleveland, Ohio.

My Fanon:

Judging from Hannah Gunn's apparent age in the Dark Knight, Babs should be around eighteen in the Dark Knight Rises so she can easily move back to Gotham and live with her father to her mother's extreme unhappiness. I cast Molly C. Quinn as the young adult version of the character.

Adding "Gail" as her middle name was my idea to differentiate the two Barbara Gordon's. Gail was chosen in honor of Gail Simone, a comic writer who worked on Birds of Prey and Batgirl.

Signs and Portents series

Babs and Nightwing end up investigating the latest Scarecrow crime spree and Babs becomes Batgirl in Signs and Portents: Meanwhile in Gotham City.

The Dark Knight Rises: Weapon of the Shadows

Babs becomes Batgirl and joins Nightwing investigating another case, but it was David Cain shooting Nightwing and her breaking him out of the hospital that reveled her vigilante persona to Commissioner Gordon and the public (read The Dark Knight Rises: Weapon of the Shadows.

Part of the Night series

Babs moves back to Gotham once the rebuilding is well underway, and attends Bruce Wayne's birthday party in Part of the Night: The Wayne Legacy. She hasn't become Batgirl yet.
